OWL-B
An electric loitering munition providing medium-range strike.
OWL-B is a flexible, mission-ready loitering system engineered for precision, adaptability and rapid deployment across modern defence operations.
Overview
Development of the OWL-B commenced in 2022, in collaboration with the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Currently the subject of the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator’s (ASCA) Mission 6, ‘Talon Strike’.
In its current configuration, the aircraft is compatible with launchers already in ADF service, with multiple live-fire trials conducted. Plans are in place to introduce canister launch during 2027. This will enable OWLs to be mounted on a variety of vehicle or vessels to support operational manoeuvreability.
Autonomy
Demonstrated ability to execute a predefined mission fully autonomously, including re-tasking while in flight and synchronisation with additional platforms.
Testing
Australian Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) contract awarded for the completion of testing and certification. The goal for this contract is to deliver a precision loitering munition capability that is fully sovereign, cost-effective, scalable, and rapidly deployable.
